Frequently asked Questions
Can I participate in the programs over the age of 65?
- Our compulsory insurance extends to the age of 65. Despite this, it definitely matters how active/sporty the participant is. We can make exceptions in certain cases.
Is there a weight limit on excursions or canyoning tours?
- 30-110kg is ideal for participation. If the distribution of weight is proportional, a 195 cm tall and 130 kg person can also participate in a program. If you are significantly overweight, we do not recommend participation.
Can you smoke during the programs?
- It is strictly forbidden to light fire in nature. It is allowed before or after the tour in a designated place. It is not allowed under any circumstances during the tour.
Can I come to the programs in my own sports shoes or sandals?
- You can also come in your own shoes if the soles are suitable. We recommend using hiking shoes or boots. In the Masca valley, for example, the use of appropriate footwear is extremely strict. They check the soles of the shoes and if they are not suitable (knurled) they will not let you into the valley. We provide hiking shoes/boots for the programs upon request. The "foot size" is included in the application form. We provide you with shoes 1 size larger than the actual size. In the case of the Teide tour, for example, where thick socks are required in winter, and because of the continuous descent (1400 meters down), the shoes must be 1 size bigger. Please check the condition of your nails before your trip. Everyone should take care of long socks themselves.
Is 0.5 l of water enough for the programs?
- A minimum of 1.5 liters of water PER PERSON is required for the programs. Below this amount there will be problems. Please take this recommendation seriously. In many cases, when the meeting is in a café, it is possible to make up for the lack of water. In other cases, where there is no purchase option at the meeting point, this can cause serious problems.
I have ankle and/or knee problems, I recently had surgery. Can I go canyoning like this?
NOT
I wear glasses, I wear contact lenses, I don't want to put my head under water. Can canyoning be done this way?
Basically, you have to jump into the pools from a height of 2-4 meters. 90% of the time there is also the possibility of a mandatory descent, so you don't have to put your head under water. Canyoning can also be done with a "dry" head, but I recommend that you take out your contact lenses or have a spare in your waterproof barrel. Also, there is a device that holds glasses that can be used to jump. I've seen it with Germans and it works.
